And I will give you pastors according
to mine heart (Jer. 3:15).

YOUR STORY COULD HELP
Pastor, if
you have been abused in any manner by a congregation, committee,
or an individual, please consider how your
experience might ease the burden of a fellow
servant of God on the brink of desperation.
And there are thousands.
Please
contact me or my writing partner,
Kent Crockett, for possible inclusion in
an upcoming book on Abused Pastors. Your
story and recovery just may save the life of a
precious, hurting under-shepherd (real names are
not used).
Shalom,

Mike Johnston, D. Min
(2 Tim. 2:2)

THE FOCUS OF OUR FELLOWSHIP
I am a companion of all them that fear thee,
and of them that keep thy precepts (Psalms 119:63)
I‘m
angry
and I'll admit it!
Righteous indignation is Biblical and
frankly I’m a bit fed up with the way
God's pastors are being driven
away from Christ honoring ministry by packs of wolves most churches refuse to
deal with or even acknowledge.
Here's a taste of the fruit of their "ministry":
|
1,500 pastors leave the ministry
every month
4,000 new churches begin
annually, while 7,000 close
90% of pastors work more than 46
hours a week.
50% of pastor’s marriages end in
divorce
80% believe that pastoral
ministry has affected their families negatively.
33% say that being in the
ministry is a hazard to their
family.
75% reported a significant
stress-related crisis at least
once in their ministry.
70% say they have a lower
self-esteem than when they
started in the ministry.
70% do not have someone they
consider a close friend.
80% feel highly unqualified for
the tasks they must face every
day
86% are fed up with dealing with
problem people and OVER one half
of those report a serious
conflict with a parishioner at
least once a month. |
PASTOR ABUSE: The
Growing Ministry Malady
Much more has been written about abuse of
sheep than abuse of shepherds. But it's surfacing around
the world so why are we pretending it's
not? Embarrassment? Fear of reprisal? All in
all, shepherd shearing sheep have been at work for as
long as men of God have endeavored to
teach the Word of God. The fact is,
abused pastors line the hallowed halls of
thousands of churches where they cower
in fear of the enemy forces that gather
each week to "observe" them then
spin the results to rally their forces.
My
friend, this is heart-wrenching and I
for one am ready to pull off their masks .
